Based on Victor Hugo's classic, Les Miserables is a tale of of forgiveness and redemption. Jean Valjean, an ex-convict, finds mercy at the hands of a priest, and vows to try to live an upright life. He is mercilessly pursued by Inspector Javert, a man who does not believe that men such as Valjean can change, and who is determined to prove it.
