Miracle is based on the historical events leading up to the 1980 Olympic Games. Coach Herb Brooks took a group composed of mostly college hockey players, and through discipline and determination turned them into a powerhouse team. In a game that served as a metaphor for the Cold War, the U.S. upstarts faced the undefeated Russians in the medal round in what has become the most emotionally riveting hockey game in Olympic history.
