In the impoverished town of Nazareth, the people try to bear up under the burden of Roman occupation. Everyone is looking for a savior. Mary, a young girl in the town, is visited by an angel who tells her that she is going to give birth to the Son of God who will save the people from their sins. The Nativity Story
goes for historical accuracy in most of its storytelling and will open the eyes of viewers to the way first century people would have likely responded to Mary's miraculous pregnancy. Primarily it is a love story that shows the love of Joseph for Mary, and the sacrifices each are willing to make in obedience to God.
